An expert panel discusses the importance of diversity and inclusion when developing resources for women over 50, sharing their professional and lived experiences, and drawing on insights and learnings from the In My Prime project led by Women's Health Victoria.
This panel discussion was a feature of the Annual General Meeting of Women's Health Victoria, held on 25 October 2021. Leading experts explore the issues and evidence to identify how to design a better mental health system response, and build workforce capability to meet the needs of women who've experienced gendered violence and trauma.
In August 2020, Women’s Health in the North and Women’s Health Victoria presented a two-part webinar series, Addressing reproductive coercion: Access and Equity III. These webinars explored the issue of reproductive coercion and the intersection of sexual and reproductive health and violence against women.
Early menopause can occur either spontaneously (often without a known cause) or as a result of medical treatment, particularly for cancers. Held on 19 October, this webinar was an opportunity to hear from clinicians with expertise in early menopause to talk about the social impact and also hear first-hand from a woman about the lived experience aspects of early menopause.
This interactive symposium explored the application of gender transformative practice in the women's policy and health promotion sector, with a focus on engaging men in the work to prevent violence against women. The forum features the launch of the knowledge paper Towards gender transformative practice, an expert panel discussion on men and masculinities, insights from International leaders, and break out sessions with participants.
This interactive symposium explores why sex and gender matter more than ever to effective action on key women’s health issues, with a focus on mental health and substance use.
This forum sought to identify ways to build and develop services to better meet the needs of people from communities traditionally underserved by sexual and reproductive health services.
This forum was held on 15 May 2019 at One Roof in Melbourne. The forum was planned and delivered by Women’s Health Victoria (WHV) and brought together 100 stakeholders in women’s sexual and reproductive health (SRH) to hear from key speakers, reflect on recent achievements, and identify shared priorities going forward.
The speakers explore the representation of women and girls in advertising and public spaces and how this perpetuates stereotypes that drive violence against women. Innovative opportunities to improve the representation and inclusion of women in Victoria are also discussed.
