Shifting focus: preventing gendered violence and harassment at work and supporting victim-survivors

Women’s Health Victoria (WHV), Sexual Assault Services Victoria (SAS Vic) and Victoria Legal Aid (VLA) welcome the Victorian Government’s commitment to stopping sexual harassment in Victorian workplaces.

This submission unpacks the urgent reforms needed to prevent gendered violence and sexual harassment in Victorian workplaces, hold perpetrators accountable, and support victim survivors to recover and receive redress. Highlights include:

10 goals for a culture, system and regulatory framework that prevents and addresses gendered violence and harassment in Victoria.
A system-wide focus that lifts the burden of achieving these goals from the individual and has the potential to drive cultural and behavioural change.
25 detailed recommendations setting out a suite of State-based reforms that together could stop gendered violence at work.
