Our Counterpart service, previously known as BreaCan, has a proud history of over 15 years. Counterpart is funded by the Victorian Government to provide support and inform women with cancer to live well. The Victorian Cancer Plan 2020-2024 provides a framework to improve cancer outcomes for all Victorians. It has five priority action areas. Counterpart is one of a range of community based cancer support services and sits under Action area four of the plan.
The focus of Counterpart is connecting highly trained Peer Support Volunteers, who have experienced cancer, to other women with cancer to provide emotional and practical support.
