This Spotlight features a list of up-to-date and freely available research and resources on the topic of pelvic pain in women.

Pelvic pain is pain felt below the belly button and above the legs and is sometimes, but not always, associated with menstrual periods. Pelvic pain can also be caused or exacerbated by a range of gynaecological, gastrointestinal, urological, and neuromuscular conditions.

This Spotlight explores:

How pelvic pain affects women;
The relationship between persistant pelvic pain and mental health;
The underdiagnoses and mismanagement of pelvic pain, including the lack of understanding and dismissive attitudes in healthcare settings; and
Good quality pelvic pain management.
