Real bodies: understanding and celebrating labia diversity

The Real Bodies: Understanding and Celebrating Labia Diversity report by Women's Health Victoria reveals that almost one-quarter of young Australian women feel anxious or unhappy about their labia, driven by the influence of porn and online media. This anxiety has led to an increase in female genital cosmetic surgery.

The report, based on a survey of over 1,000 individuals, emphasises the need for better education among GPs and more inclusive sexual education for young people to combat these negative perceptions.

The Labia Library's 10th anniversary campaign aims to promote labia diversity and challenge unrealistic beauty standards, highlighting that labia come in various shapes, sizes, and colours. The updated Labia Library website features an expanded gallery and new health information to support this mission.
