This half-day workshop is designed to support workplaces who are implementing prevention of family violence initiatives. The workshop builds the knowledge and confidence of managers and staff in designated family violence support roles to provide a supportive and appropriate response to disclosures of violence that may arise during or after implementation of training and workplace change programs (such as Take a Stand).
Workplace responses are formal and informal systems that support a workplace and its staff to address family violence as a workplace issue. They can include: a commitment statement, family violence policy, family violence leave, family violence procedures including responding to perpetrators in the workplace, workplace safety plan and safety plan guidelines, family violence contact officers, training for managers and leaders, incorporation of family violence information in new staff induction procedure, and employee assistance programs.
This workshop is designed to be delivered to workplace managers, human resources and family violence contact staff. It is also designed to be tailored and delivered to workplaces in-house.
'I am very proud that this training is offered and that [our workplace] sees it is important.'
'Very engaging presenters and comfortable for people to talk.'
'Practical scenarios. [I am taking away] the importance of empathy, listening to a disclosure of violence.'
