Walking, riding and access to public transport : draft report

Submission by Women’s Health Victoria to: Walking, riding and access to public transport : draft report for discussion, October 2012. WHV supports all of the report’s recommendations for increased use of active transport by Australians. The submission encourages the application of a gender analysis framework to help ensure that policies, plans and programs reflect the needs and experiences of Austrailan women, and provide greater equality for women in accessing active transport options. Examples are provided of gender-specific active transport usage patterns and access barriers. WHV supports the stated imperative for the various levels of government and business to work together to plan and deliver on policy recommendations.

Submitted to: Australia. Department of Infrastructure and Transport. Further information about the consultation process can be found here.
