Review of the Victorian Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities Act 2006

Submission by Women’s Health Victoria to the: Review of the Victorian Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities Act 2006. The submission provides recommendations on: expansion of the Charter to include the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights and the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, establishing an independent cause of action, and comments on the effect of the Charter on the provision of services and the performance of other functions by public authorities, as well as comments on the overall benefits of the Charter.
