Residential Tenancies (Rooming House Standards) Regulations: Regulatory impact statement

Submission by Women’s Health Victoria in response to the: Proposed Residential Tenancies (Rooming House Standards) Regulations: Regulatory impact statement. The submission supports the introduction of rooming house standards in Victoria, and in particular the adoption of regulatory Option 1 to provide minimum standards for (1) safety and security and (2) amenity. Safety and security standards will help to protect vulnerable women residents from violence and abuse. Amenity standards will help to ensure that kitchen and dining facilities are sufficient to enable residents to store, prepare, and eat healthy food.
