Inquiry into pay equity and increasing female participation in the workforce

Submission by Women’s Health Victoria to the Inquiry into pay equity and associated issues related to increasing female participation in the workforce. Discusses women’s work participation rates, the gender pay gap, paid maternity leave and superannuation. Makes the point that women’s workforce participation and financial security is influenced by structural discrimination. Encourages the Government to adopt a gender analysis framework in all policy and planning initiatives in order to: monitor employment changes that impact on pay equity issues; educate employers, employees and trade unions about these issues; and evaluate workplace relations legislation.

Submitted to: Australia. House of Representatives Standing Committee on Employment and Workplace Relations. Further information on the inquiry can be found here.
