Australian dietary guidelines
Submission by Women’s Health Victoria to the: Public consultation on the Australian dietary guidelines. The guidelines encourage healthy dietary patterns to promote and maintain the nutrition-related health and wellbeing of the Australian population. The submission argues that women, for reasons of gender, are particularly vulnerable to poverty and food insecurity, are at risk of obesity, and experience nutrient deficiency and chronic disease. Recommends the inclusion of the links between gender and the social determinants of health in the Guidelines.
