This NATSEM report, commissioned by the Federal Government, finds that the gender wage gap has a substantial effect on Australia’s economic performance, measured in terms of GDP per capita. Removing the effects associated with being a woman (60 percent of the wage gap), could see an improvement in GDP of around $56 billion per year.
