Professional indemnity insurance for midwives
The Government has signed the contract to provide the first ever Commonwealth-supported professional indemnity insurance for private midwives who provide hospital-based services in collaboration with doctors and other health professionals. The new insurance scheme does not cover independent home birth midwifery service providers.
