Australian position statement on ovarian cancer screening

There is no evidence to support the use of any test to screen asymptomatic women for ovarian cancer, according to a new position statement released by a consortium of Australian expert groups. A review of evidence on ovarian cancer screening has concluded that mortality from ovarian cancer cannot be reduced by tests including pelvic examination, CA125 or other biomarkers or transvaginal ultrasound.
